Our welding department just completed the gear case for a speed reducer gearbox that will power a drivetrain system for a rolling mill stand for the steel industry.
When the gearbox is complete, the gearbox will weigh an estimated 35,500 lbs. and provide a 348:1 reduction with a rated output torque of 188,000 ft/lbs.!
