Power Engineering & Manufacturing recently shipped serial number 1 of our new design pump drive gearbox for the Oil & Gas industry. This pump drive gearbox will be used on the new electric hydraulic fracturing pump trailers. The PEM Engineering and Sales Teams worked with our customers’ engineering team and four other vendors on this project to ensure the design met all required e-frac pump trailer specifications. The end goal of the e-frac units will be to replace the outdated diesel units. By utilizing the electric hydraulic frac fleets, it eliminates the diesel engines thereby eliminating the high maintenance costs of transmissions, radiator repairs and oil changes. By switching to the e-frac fleets, it will use 100% clean burning natural gas and can bring fuel cost savings of $1.5 mm per month.
