On September 30, 2023, Ingalls Shipbuilding division successfully launched the amphibious assault ship USS Bougainville LHA 8 from its floating dock into the Pascagoula River.
This ship is equipped with 10 robust gearboxes which have been designed and manufactured by Power Engineering & Manufacturing. Among these gearboxes, 2 are specifically designed for propelling the windlass system responsible for anchoring, while the remaining 8 are dedicated to powering the aircraft elevators.
